Mayor Ray Nagin announced Thursday that safe drinking water has been restored to New Orleans’ east bank, west of the Industrial Canal. The Department of Health and Hospitals, the official regulatory agency for the State of Louisiana, certified the water quality, the mayor’s office said.
You need to run the water for 10-15 minutes to clear out the pipes from the street to your faucets.
I’m gonna turn on the faucet farthest from the street first.
