Break out the cigars and pass em around — it’s a girl.
Persephone!
Born on the cusp:
February 21, 2008
6 lbs. (just barely)
17 3/4″ long
Mother and child are both healthy. Persephone was delivered via Caesarian section, so Xy is recovering slowly.
More to come.
In the meantime, you can find the earliest known photos of Persephone ex utero in my photostream.

As comment #46 I cannot be original or unusual but I am truly SO HAPPY that all has gone well for the three of you. Congrats all around, please make sure Xy gets plenty of heavy duty painkiller, and wishing all of you the very best. I’ve read that having a baby is one of the most optimstic acts possible in this lfe and you and Xy certainly have proven that.
All of my best, lem.
