Pictures from Her First Days of Life

I’m not the kind of guy who carries around pictures of his newborn child.

But I will post ’em on the net.

Three Days Old

I can understand that our geographically dispersed family members would want to see more pictures of our little girl, but I was surprised that friends and co-workers have requested more as well. I mean, generally speaking, I don’t want to look at other people’s baby pictures. Xy and I both share the conviction that all newborn babies look alike — which is to say rather ugly. Curiously enough we have both found our daughter to be an amazing exception to this rule. I guess it’s her goddess-like qualities that make other people want to adore her as well. Even Xy’s 6th grade classroom has been clamoring for a closer look.

So without further ado, check out this Flickr photoset: Birth & First Days of Life.

  1. Our families ask for pictures all the time, which is one of the reasons we post so many. Both of our moms even have us upload pictures to CVS so that they can pick them up at their local CVS store too. I even wondered that my Flickr friends would be getting bored of seeing Julian all the time, but when I asked a few, they were like no, post more! 🙂

Both overall, I totally prefer photography over video. Video is cool once in a while, but still life rules.

  2. Such knowing little eyes.

Then again, she could be saying, “Hey, I’m still tired from the move. Get that outta my face, Dad!!!”

Beautiful little girl, all the same.

    Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!

I was so glad to see that you posted more pictures. I have been checking everyday. “The girl” does look like she is very wise. She also looks content with her new surroundings and not the least concerned that she has newbies for parents. Mom and Dad look like they are handling the change well, too. Congrats on creating a healthy, beautiful Everpax.

She is a beauty Editor B. But I think she does resemble you a little bit, particluarly in the Barcode picture.

  5. Awwwwww!!!!!!!

    What a sweet little girl!!!!

    Thanks for posting!!

(I remember, too, being so surprised at finding that, somehow, my own baby daughter was the cutest baby I had EVER seen! Let’s hear it for parental love and bonding. It’s all wonderful wonderful stuff). Like all new moms, I just couldn’t stop staring at mine when she was new. Probably for weeks. And I think she spent almost as much time studying me, too.

    Have fun!

Andrea and I were looking at the pictures in light of what you wrote. When Abe was born we thought he was the cutest little thing, now we look at those pictures from the first 3 months and wonder what we were thinking. He’s more monkey than boy.

I think he’s cuter now, but who knows what I’ll think in 3 more years.
