I did it! I finished my novel.
It’s not the 50,000 words required by NanoWriMo. It’s only 21,469 words. So it’s not actually long enough to be what most people would consider a novel. More like a novella.
Oh, yes, it is a steaming pile of crap. But it’s mine, all mine. I made that crap. Me.
And I’ve learned something very important along the way: Writing fiction is really hard.

Wait, what makes it finished??
What indeed? It’s finished because I got to the end of the story. I had some idea of the ending before I even started, and I kept writing until I got there. So now it’s done.
Very cool that you wrote a novel. I’ve always wanted to write a novel with a tile of the form, “The ____ist,” like _The Alienist_, _The Intuitionist_, etc., but I fear that all the “The ____ist” titles might be used up by the time I ever get around to writing one. Congratulations to you that you did it! Give it a “The ____ist” title and make me _really_ jealous!
