All things in moderation, moderation in all things, excess dulls the senses, the social scene too, especially for me. I enjoy the company of people more when I have a lot of time to myself. -- not so much that I lose social skills, I hope, but enough to let me pursue my interests. Enough so that I don't wear other people out with my restlessness, like I'm wearing out Kris. Am I comfortable applying the word "fault" to this quality? "Social fault," perhaps. Very well then.
Due to several social faults, he kept to himself most of the time.
I'm imagining a guy who's serene in ways, refined and even reserved, but in some way still rocks the boat, makes things uncomfortable for himself and everyone he knows, and, eventually, everyone who knows him.
Martin Neverson becomes a god via some miracle and is borne by the faithful to ecstacy? Drastic changes, but it could really drive the plot -- a grand seeping theme, easy to grasp but lots of good room to explore. The citizens of Abangen are superstitious, right?

Does Mike Northam care whether or not his art is interesting to other people?
There's no way I can possibly record all my thoughts -- there must be two or three between each word I write. My thoughts are *racing.* Isn't that symptomatic of something? Mania, perhaps? I HATE PARANOIA. Maybe it's just the caffiene (had some tea) must remember to compare when I'm straight.

A man walks up to a woman sunbathing on a beach. She looks up at him. He shakes his head (after surveying her body) and he says, "just looking." Walks on.
Now repeat the same scenario in somebody's backyard. Does it seem more *perverted* because the man invades her territory even more?
Is a messy desk really the sign of a great mind? How much time does it actually take to keep your office/home/etc tidy and well-organized? Too much? Is their a connection between genius and slobbery?
Genius-slobs as a type. Neat geniuses too.
THE SLOB. Like the Blob, he comes from outerspace. The Blob was an incredibly scary movie, in concept if not execution. The mindless onslaught of the thing, pure destruction. Pure slobbery from the Slob? What is the purest slobbery?
WHY ISN'T THE UNICORN SCARY? No one would run for the hills if they saw a real unicorn, would they?

Jadis, the Deplorable Word, C. S. Lewis. Great Stuff. I like his stance against cynicism and for youth. Does he hate science. His "high moral" tone is amusing, romantic, admirable -- most people are dicks about it; you get the impression that C. S. would be cool.
God wearing a mask and forgetting he's god.
I'm tired of flogging a dead horse
I'm so tired [repeat]
cuz the lash is heavy and I've split its side
and the flies are swarming on its hide

Do gods have any choice over their godhood? What about demons? What's the difference, by the way?
How do people generally react to favors? Are they suspicious? Ungrateful? Embarrassed? Pleased? WHY DON'T WE HAVE ANY BEER IN THE HOUSE?

When I clean a spoon, I call it "making a new spoon."
